From Bnei Brak to
Tel Aviv
"From Bnei Brak to Tel Aviv" tells the story of Shany Navon – from her childhood in Bnei Brak and education in Orthodox institutions, through marriage, motherhood, and divorce, to coming out and beginning a new life as a secular woman in the world of tech and STEM.
Shany candidly shares about the period when she had to "come out of the closet" anew each day, about the challenges LGBTQ women experience in religious society, and about her journey from the design world to a senior position in high-tech as a product manager in artificial intelligence.
The lecture touches on personal identity, internal struggles versus social expectations, and how living a double life can shape the way we perceive ourselves and our place in the world.

Shany Navon
Shany Navon is a product lead with more than a decade of experience in tech and STEM, having worked at leading companies such as Fiverr, Mobile, Via, and D-ID. Her story is one of diversity and resilience – as a Mizrahi woman who has overcome adversity and stifling societal expectations, as a mother, and as someone who made a sharp transition between worlds. Her story demonstrates how a complex background can become an advantage, and how creating an inclusive and diverse environment is not just a challenge – but also a significant opportunity for personal and organizational change.
