Family Justice

When attorney Nimrod Gorenstein speaks about the legal struggle of the gay community in Israel, he speaks from the heart and personal experience. As a gay father and a groundbreaking lawyer, Nimrod is at the forefront of the legal battle that has led to significant changes in the recognition of LGBTQ family rights in Israel. Alongside the surrogacy journey he embarked on with his family, he has led legal precedents in adoption and paternal rights, and since the war broke out - recognition of widowers and bereaved parents from the gay community.

In his lecture, Nimrod lecture intertwines his personal story as a father and the many legal battles he has led throughout the years, his mission as a lawyer and as a parent. He reveals the difficulties and challenges LGBTQ families face on their path to legal recognition, and the moving moments of victories that led to social change. These families' lives are trapped in the gap between social progress and a legal system that lags. They come together in a communal struggle for justice and recognition.
