The Question That Has Changed My Life

One question led Avi Buskila to decide to change the course of his life. From his childhood in the Galilee, through his combat service as an operations officer in the Second Lebanon War, to the brave decision to come out of the closet and live his life as he truly is.

A defining moment during the war has raised one question that gave him no rest: Would he die without having truly lived his life? Upon returning home from war, he embarked on a personal journey of self-discovery, which led him to extensive social activism. In his lecture, he talks about the ongoing journey of self-acceptance, dealing with stereotypes in a masculine and conservative world, and the daily choice to be faithful to yourself – despite the difficulties and costs.

This is a lecture about strength, coping, and change – how crisis moments can be transformed into engines for growth, and how a personal story of fear and concealment can be turned into life-changing action – for yourself and others.
